Pokemon Ruby Destiny Wedlocke: Chapter 0

Shawn, the usual thirteen year old about to go out on a big quest to possibly get killed in a world full of dangerous monsters, was currently moving to Sun Ford Town, though he would soon go out into the region to start on a challenge... A Wedlocke challenge! He even had a idea for a naming theme! Drinks!

He was asleep, already fully dressed, and in the back of a moving truck... Emphasis on WAS... He was jolted awake as the moving truck came to a stop, a box of underwater falling on him. He groans, slowly opening his eyes, adjusting his hat as he looked around... Though, he quickly squints his eyes as the doors to the moving truck opened, the light from outside nearly blinding him... Though, once his eyes adjusted, he stood up to exit the truck.

The truck had arrived at Sun Ford, and was outside of what he assumed was his new home... His mother was waiting for him... She smiled, walking over as he hopped down out of the truck. "Shawn, we're here, honey!" His mother said with a smile. "Yeah, I can see that..." Shawn said. "It must be tiring riding with our things in the moving truck." She said... "Yeah... Hey! Now that you mention it, why couldn't I just ride in the front?!" He says, slightly upset. "Well, this is Sun Ford Town!" She said with a smile. "Again, I can see that..." He says with a sigh as she ignored his question... "How do you like it? This is our new home! It has a quaint feel, but it seems to be an easy place to live, don't you think?" She says. "How should I know? I haven't been inside yet." Shawn says, rolling his eyes. "And you get you're own room Shawn! Let's go inside!" She said. "THANK GOD!" He said as she told him he had his own room... He then followed her inside...

As he enters, he was surprised to see the place fully furnished... Didn't the back of the truck just then get opened though? "Either the last people jere left us EVERYTHING... Or I was out WAY longer than I thought..." Shawn said. "We had more than one moving truck silly." His mother said. "AND NOT ONE OF THEM HAD A FREE SEAT IN THE FRONT?!" Shawn shouted. "Shawn, your room is upstairs. Go check it out dear!" She said. He groaned as his question was ignored again! He began walking to a set of stairs near the back of the room. "Dad bought you a clock!" His mother said. "Oh joy..." He said sarcastically... He went up to his room, not really caring what it looked like, just glad to not be sleeping on the floor anymore! He instantly went to his PC, grabbing out a Potion he'd deposited before the move. "Why didn't we just move all our stuff through the PC?" He asks himself. He then looked around for a clock, only to see a crappy looking pink one on the wall... "Really? Pink? And why this thing instead of a digital clock that sets itself?" He said, setting the clock to the proper time... Six PM...

He then noticed a Nintendo Game Cube by the TV! "SWEET!" He says, looking at what games he had... It would seem the only Game Cube games that were unpacked were Mario Sunshine and Zelda Wind Waker... "............." He paused, looking at his two most hated games "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!". He then tossed the two games in the trash, hooking up his N64 to play Glover instead! And once he did, he played that game for fifty whole minutes! He felt a bit tired, so he went downstairs, planning to go on a jog... As he went back to the main room, he saw his mother sitting two inches from the TV... He sighs, going over. "Mom, it's not healthy to sit that close to the TV..." He said, putting a hand on jer shoulder... "IT'S SNOW SOFT GYM! MAYBE KEVIN WILL BE ON!" She said, her shouting causing Shawn to fall over on his rear. "...We brought you this report from in front of Snow Soft Gym." The interviewer on TV said... "Oh... It's over..." She said. "Seriously? How could you have timed that any better..." Shawn said with a small yawn... Feeling a bit tired, he left the house, going out for a jog around town!

But not being the most athletic guy, he got exhausted pretty fast... So much so that when he went to go home, he went into the wrong house... As he entered the neighbor's house, he didn't even notice the neighbor's mom watching TV! He just went right for the stairs, heading up... As he entered the bedroom, he saw a girl sitting at a desk, writing in a journal... She heard his footsteps, looking in his direction... The two locked eyes, neither person saying anything for a few seconds... "HEY! This is a girl's room, ya know!" The girl shouted, being the first to break the silence. "GAH! Sorry! I must've got the wrong house!" Shawn said. "Oh, you must be Shawn! The new neighbor? I didn't realize your move was today..." The girl said. "Huh? Yeah, that's me..." He said. "Hehe. Sorry for shouting at you like that..." She said with an awkward laugh "Anyways, hi! I'm Tamashii. Glad to meet you." The girl said with a smile. "Uh... You two..." He said. "I heard about you from my dad, Professor Birch. I'm gonna be doing the Wedlocke too! I was hoping you would be nice, Shawn, and that we could be friends." She smiles. "CRAP! I forgot about the Wedlocke! And right when I finally get my own room!" Shawn exclaims. "OH NO! I forgot! I was suposed to go help dad catch some wild Pokèmon!" She said, quickly running out, accidentally tripping him, causing him to fall down the stairs... He groans, laying at the bottom of the stairs...

"Oh, you must be the new neighbor!" Tamashii's mom said. He simply groans, standing up and leaving... He saw a young child near the entrance to S.F. Path, looking afraid of something... Shawn approached, looking to the kid... "What's wrong?" He asked... "I can hear someone shouting for help down the road here!" The kid said... Immediately assuming it was Tamashii, Shawn took off onto S.F. Path... Though, he quickly saw Professor Birch getting chased around by a Poochyena... "H-HELP ME!" Professor Birch shouted, trying to climb a tree to get away from the wild Poochyena "PLEASE HELP ME! IN MY BAG! THERE'S A POKÈBALL!". "Really dude? This is... This is just pathetic..." Shawn said, walking over to the Professor's discarded bag, opening it... Only to see three PokèBalls! Not just one! They all had labels on them... 'Torchic', 'Treecko', and 'Mudkip'... Deciding easily, he grabbed Mudkip's PokèBall, tossing it at the Poochyena! The ball bonked it on the head, and out popped a male Mudkip! The Poochyena growled, looking towards it's new foe... "Just tackle it a bunch..." Shawn said. Mudkip simply nodded, tackling the Poochyena a couple of times... The Poochyena soon simply ran off once it got weak...

"Whew..." Professor Birch sighed, slidung down the trunk of the tree "I was out here studying wild Pokèmon when I was jumped...". "Seriously dude... It was a level two Poochyena... Just throw a rock at it or kick it." Shawn said. "I don't like dogs okay!" Birch said. "So? I'm terrified of dogs." Shawn said. "Huh?" Birch said, confused. "Again, it's a level two Poochyena... Not scary..." Shawn said... "Either way, this is no place to chat. Let's head to my Pokèmon lab okay?" Birch said. "Uh... Okay?" Shawn said... Birch then lead Shawn back to his lab in Sun Ford, the Mudkip following behind Shawn... Soon enough... They had arrived back at the Pokèmon lab...

"So Shawn. I've heard so much about you from your brother. I've heard you moved here to start a Wedlocke challenge. Is that correct?" Professor Birch asked. "Well... Yeah..." Shawn said... "The way you battled earlier... You and Mudkip were a great team. So why not take him as your first Pokèmon for the Wedlocke?" The Professor said. Mudkip smiled, looking up hopefully at Shawn... Shawn smiled, giving Mudkip a pat on the head... "Why not? I do really like Mudkips..." Shawn said. "So I heard..." The Professor says "So, do you have a naming theme?". "Actually yeah. I think I'll name my Pokèmon after types of drinks..." He said, looking to Mudkip... "And I think I'll call you..." He began to think... "Well... Water would just be stupid... So how about Juice?" He said. Mudkip nodded, agreeing with the name, letting himself back into his PokèBall... And with that... The Wedlocke would soon begin...
